The Celtic harp and uilleann pipes are Ireland's two indigenous instruments, though the fascinating history of each is quite distinct. The Celtic Fire trio weaves the two together with Irish step-dance, penny whistle and bodhran (Irish frame drum) into a program that culminates with a crowd-pleasing "celiedh" (music and dance party), featuring audience participants who are taught simple dance steps and accompaniment on harp and bodhran (hand-drum). Celtic Fire was a featured program of Young Audiences of Atlanta for over 15 years. During that time they performed and taught literally thousands of Georgia school children in assemblies large and small. Celtic Fire also offers a concert program suitable for all ages.
